Adhering to the socialist orientation of education, the school takes moral education as its fundamental task. It fully implements the guiding role of core socialist values in art talent training, and integrates value inheritance, knowledge imparting and competency improvement. In the past three years, faculty members have published 38 research papers. They have presided over 2 provincial and ministerial social science projects, 10 bureau-level projects and 3 university-level projects, as well as 1 provincial and 1 university-level teaching reform projects. One course has been selected into the university smart course database, and another has been approved as a university-level ideological and political demonstration course. One teacher won the third prize in the Basic Skills Competition for College Physical Education Teachers of Shandong Province.
Hierarchical teaching is adopted in English courses with mixed classes divided into Level A, B and C. This model helps art majors meet basic English learning requirements and enables students at different proficiency levels to make steady progress. For physical education courses, training plans combining basic fitness exercises and specialized sports training are formulated to improve students' physical fitness and meet national physical health assessment standards. The school also organizes various sports events together with the university Youth League Committee and trade union to foster a vibrant sports culture.
Courses of Introduction to Art and Appreciation of Literary Classics and Writing Practice cultivate students' attainments in language, literature and art theories, and enhance their expressive and theoretical appreciation capabilities. The course of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence builds students' information and AI literacy, equipping them with skills to assist professional study and artistic creation via information and artificial intelligence technologies.
The School of General Education will continuously improve the quality of general courses, advance teaching and scientific research, and contribute to building a modern high-level art university as well as fostering students' comprehensive cultural attainment and physical health.
